Privacy Policy

The short version. Miyu works without an account. Your pets, their photos,
your daily care history and your reminders stay on your phone. We do not use analytics or
tracking of any kind, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
The only time anything leaves your phone is when you start an AI check or ask Miyu a
question. We tell you before that happens the first time, and you can decline.
1. Who is responsible

2. No account, no identity
Miyu does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or password. When the app first
runs it creates an anonymous identifier on our server so your subscription and
usage allowance can be recognised. That identifier is not linked to you as a person.
3. What stays on your phone
The following never leaves your device. It is not backed up to us and we cannot read it:
- Pet profiles: name, species, birthday, breed, weight, gender, your notes
- Pet photos
- Daily care tasks and your completion history, streaks
- Health records: vaccinations, vet visits, treatments and their dates
- Your conversation history with Miyu
- Reminders. These are scheduled as local alarms on the device. Miyu has no push notification
infrastructure and never sends you anything from a server.
- Photos and recordings you take for an AI check. Only the most recent 60 checks keep their
media; older media is deleted automatically while the written result is kept.
4. What we store on our server
Our backend runs on Supabase (EU – Ireland). We store only:

We never store your photos or recordings on our server. They are passed through
for analysis and discarded.
5. What we send to our AI provider
When you start a stool check, a sound check, or ask Miyu a question, we send the following to
OpenAI, which performs the analysis on our behalf:
- The photo or the audio recording for that check
- Context about the pet: name, species, age, gender, breed, weight, and the notes you wrote
- Recent check results and upcoming health events for that pet
- For chat: the messages in that conversation
We deliberately do not send your own name, your birthday, your email, your
location, your contacts or your device identifiers.
The notes field is free text. Please do not write information there that you would not want
processed by an AI provider.
OpenAI processes this data as our processor and does not use it to train its models. Because
OpenAI operates outside the EEA and Türkiye, this involves an international transfer, carried out
under the safeguards in OpenAI's data processing agreement.
6. Legal basis
Where the GDPR or KVKK applies: we process data on the basis of performance of a
contract (providing the features you asked for) and, for the AI features specifically,
your explicit consent, which we request before the first analysis and which you
may withdraw at any time by not using those features.
7. How long we keep things
- On-device data: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- AI check results on our server: until you ask us to delete them.
- Usage counters: for the current allowance period.
- Photos and recordings on our server: never stored.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to give you a copy of, correct, or delete the data we hold. Because the account is
anonymous, deleting the app removes everything held on the device; to delete the records tied to
your anonymous identifier, write to emreekirca@hotmail.com from the device
in question and we will remove them. Under the GDPR and KVKK you also have the right to complain to
your local supervisory authority.
9. Children
Miyu is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Who else is involved

We use no advertising networks, no analytics services and no tracking SDKs.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you
in the app.
